STIHL has detected anomalies in a lever that was installed in MS 462 chainsaws. Investigations have shown that an influence on the trigger sensitivity of the automatic chain brake cannot be excluded.
Therefore, in the event of a kickback, there may be an increased risk of injury to the user.
As a responsible manufacturer, STIHL has decided to issue a recall for the potentially affected machines and to replace the lever.
This affects certain machines in two definable machine number ranges.
Machine number range 1: 190996183 - 191007172
Machine number range 2: 191027366 - 191027557
If you own a chainsaw MS 462 from the above machine number ranges, please stop using the machine immediately.
Please contact your local STIHL dealer for a lever replacement. This repair is free of charge for you.
