Jan Grigor Schubert will become a Managing Director at STIHL Tirol GmbH as of January 1, 2023. He will succeed Clemens Schaller, who is set to retire at the end of his contract as of December 31, 2022. Martin Schwarz, STIHL Executive Board Member for Manufacturing and Materials, said: "As a long-standing Managing Director of our subsidiary ZAMA, Mr. Schubert has been able to demonstrate his extensive knowledge of production and manufacturing as well as his excellent leadership skills in an international environment. I am delighted that Mr. Schubert has joined the STIHL Tirol management team and that we have been able to fill this important position with an experienced manager from within the company."
Jan Grigor Schubert was born on June 10, 1966, in Gütersloh, Germany. He is married, with one child. After completing his studies in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University, he started his career as a production planner at Robert Bosch GmbH in 1990. From 1996 to 2011, he held a wide variety of management roles at BSH Home Appliances in Germany, China, and Brazil. Most recently, he was a member of the board of management of BSH China, where he was responsible for the development of refrigeration appliances at various locations. Since January 2012, Jan Grigor Schubert has been a Managing Director at ZAMA, a wholly-owned STIHL subsidiary, which produces carburetors, precision turned parts, and cable harnesses for motorized forest and garden tools. "I would like to thank the Stihl family and the Executive Board for placing their trust in me," said Jan Grigor Schubert. I'm proud to have contributed to the success of ZAMA for more than ten years and to have worked together with the team on the company's global expansion and on its preparations for a future without combustion engines. I would like to thank the entire ZAMA workforce for the many years of successful cooperation. I am now looking ahead to a new challenge, joining up with my colleagues in my new home away from home at STIHL Tirol."
Since May 1, 2018, Clemens Schaller has been a Managing Director at STIHL Tirol GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the STIHL Group based in Langkampfen, Austria. STIHL Tirol is a center of competence for ground-supported outdoor power equipment and a production location for countless STIHL battery-operated products and garden tools. The company employed 702 people in 2020. "With Clemens Schaller at the helm, STIHL Tirol has been able to consistently advance along its growth path in the last few years and has achieved record after record over the years. We would like to thank Mr. Schaller for his steadfast loyalty and wish him all the best for his retirement," said STIHL Executive Board member Martin Schwarz. "I'm thrilled that we as a team have been able to expand our plant in Langkampfen substantially since 2018," Clemens Schaller added. The enormous increase in production has only been possible thanks to the substantial investments we have made and the dedication shown by the workforce. Our crowning accomplishment is the in-house production of plastic parts for our assembly lines, which will go online in fall 2022. Even though the last two years have been rife with challenges as a result of the pandemic, supply bottlenecks, and production running at full speed, this role has always brought me immense pleasure. Thank you to all employees of STIHL Tirol for working so hard and so successfully with me."
