Pink strawberry-like stone fruit, 4-6cm long, stalked, 2-cm in diameter. Stone is longer than it is wide, pointed at both ends and very woody.

Grey peeling bark. Branches are brown-red, occasionally green-brown, with a sticky surface, round cross-section.

Demands
Intolerant of soil compaction, frost-hardy, not fume-hardy, prefers locations sheltered from the wind. Produces fewer flowers when planted in half-shade; intolerant of heat and dryness.
