STIHL to Invest more than EUR 20 million in Extending Engineering Center

STIHL plans to enlarge its product research and development facility in Waiblingen-Neustadt, Plant 2, by about 8,500 sq.m. and thus create new capacity for further growth. The total investment for the new building will amount to more than EUR 20 million. Construction work is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2013 and the new building is to be opened in spring 2014. It will offer space for about 180 workplaces.

The building will be erected in front of the existing engineering center (EWZ). It will provide space for offices, laboratories and engineering. Associated areas of activity will be integrated in order to utilize synergy effects. Current space problems will be solved and extra space created to boost research and development capacity. Furthermore, the cafeteria will be transferred to the new building and enlarged.
