Leaf upperside
Ovately round to broadly ovate, palmately cleaved leaves, opposite, with pointed or sharply pointed tip, serrated edge and heart-shaped base. Leaves are glossy green above, grey-green below. 5-10cm long, 4-8cm wide, leaf stem 5-10cm long. Yellow autumn colouring.

Flowers
Flowering period VI-VII. Pretty white blossoms with 5 petals each, the cymes are 15-25cm wide and of particular ornamental value. The sterile margin flowers are approx. 3cm wide with yellowish-green or shimmering coral-red lateral buds, sometimes without terminal bud.

Small capsule breaks open to release numerous fine winged seeds.
