ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG, which has its registered office in Waiblingen, awarded its “2016 Supplier of the Year” awards to six recipients. ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG is the world’s leading manufacturer of chainsaws and also produces many other power tools, including clearing saws, cut-off machines, blowers and sprayers. At a special ceremony in May, awards certificates were presented by Dr. Bertram Kandziora, Chairman of the STIHL Executive Board and Executive Board Member for Manufacturing and Materials.

STIHL has been giving out the “Supplier of the Year” award since 1990, and has recognized a total of 100 suppliers in this way so far. Of these 100, 22 suppliers have already been honored twice, eight suppliers three times, two suppliers four times and two suppliers five times.

The assessment criteria for the award are outstanding accomplishments with respect to quality, technology, innovation, service and price/performance ratio. The “Supplier of the Year” award highlights the suppliers who have significantly supported STIHL in achieving its goals through their high quality of delivery, punctuality, flexibility, collaboration and contributed expertise.
