Principles of social responsibility

Preamble

The STIHL Group recognizes its social responsibility as part of the community in all regions in which it operates. STIHL respects the cultural, social, political and legal diversity of societies and nations. Within the framework of the laws and regulations of individual countries and its scope of influence, STIHL strives to harmonize commercial goals with the social and ecological requirements outlined below.

These principles of social responsibility are part of STIHL’s company culture. All employees are called upon to abide by these principles. Business partners and suppliers are requested to introduce comparable principles and take them into account in their company policy.

As a manufacturer of chain saws and power tools for gardening and landscaping, STIHL is reliant on an intact environment and is thus committed to run its business in such a way that harmful effects on the environment are reduced as far as possible. The reduction of emissions from products and processes is one of the main priorities. Products are developed and built with the best available technology to minimize the consumption of natural resources. STIHL is a world leader in the development of engine technology with a reduced environmental impact.

Corruption

STIHL takes a firm stance against corruption, including blackmail and bribery.
