STIHL enlarges executive board to five members

As of May 1, 2008, STIHL AG will have a five-member executive board. This was decided by the company’s supervisory board on April 3, 2008.

On the one hand, this change takes account of the favorable growth of the STIHL Group, which is reflected in the increasing number of production plants abroad, the setting up of foreign sales companies, steeply rising investments and a workforce which is now approaching 10,000. In addition, the numerous amendments to laws that are quite significant for companies, such as the corporate tax reform or reform of the inheritance tax law, impose a considerably higher work load, especially in the area of finance. As a consequence of these developments, the collective fields of responsibility of Finance and Human Resources will each be assigned to one senior vice president in future. Up to now the two areas were combined in one field of responsibility.

Senior vice president Dr. Peter Dürolf will head Human Resources, which also includes Organization and IT as well as Law and Patents. Responsibility for Finance and Controlling  is to be assumed by Dr. Klaus Detlefsen, previously divisional head of Finance, who was appointed senior vice president of STIHL AG by the supervisory board with effect from May 1, 2008.
