| STIHL turnover exceeds € 1.5 billion mark despite economic slow-down |

|
Even though the world economy was weak in 2002, the STIHL group achieved a consolidated turnover of € 1.534 billion, which represents an increase of 4.7 percent over the previous year. The share of turnover generated abroad was a little higher than the previous year at 87.4 percent. STIHL AG board spokesman Dr. Bertram Kandziora told the press in Waiblingen that "As in the years before, STIHL grew organically and was able to consolidate its leading position on the world market". Growth in turnover can be attributed to higher unit sales. Had the US dollar remained as strong as in 2001, turnover would actually have risen 7 percent.
