Boys are back in town – worlds best lumberjacks fight duels in St. Johann/Tyrol again

Spectacular action in a spectacular location: The worlds best lumberjacks will meet on March 11 right in the middle of the St. Johann/Tyrol skiing area for the premiere of the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Champions Trophy. The event is broadcasted live by EUROSPORT from 8 pm.

STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® 2010 Individual and Team Championships Decided: New Zealanders display feats of athletic prowess over two days

Last weekend, some 15,000 spectators experienced the 2010 STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship in St. Johann in Tirol live – both at the venue on the mountain railway and in the main square in the city center. Among other things, the award ceremony for Jason Wynyard was held here on Saturday evening. The New Zealander came out on top in a field of sixteen competitive lumberjacks in the – unfortunately sometimes rainy – individual competition to capture his third victory after wins in 2006 and 2009.

Far away and still in the thick of the action – the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® WM live Internet stream makes it possible. While the athletes in Brienz, Switzerland vie for hundredths of a second, you can follow every blow and every cut at home.

In the course of Sunday evening, a summary of the highlights of the 2009 World Championship will also be provided for retrieval in the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® TV Center.

For the first time, the world’s timberjack sports elite will flock to Switzerland: The Fifth Annual STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship will be held on 13 September in Brienz within the scope of the Brienz Lumberjack Days.. Tickets are available through the Haslital Tourism Board effective immediately.
