Boys are back in town (again) – St. Johann in Tirol erlebt Duell der weltbesten Sportholzfäller
Spectacular action in a spectacular location: The worlds best lumberjacks will meet on March 11 right in the middle of the St. Johann/Tyrol skiing area for the premiere of the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Champions Trophy. The event is broadcasted live by EUROSPORT from 8 pm.
The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Champions Trophy is ratcheting up the pace and the excitement yet another notch on March 11 in St. Johann/Tyrol. The eight top competitors in the world face off in a knockout system and offer athletic prowess in extremely compressed form: They must complete four disciplines successively, two with the axe and two with the saw, in each round. In addition to perfect technique, this demands the utmost in stamina, concentration and tactics. The event taking place in spectacular surroundings at an elevation of 1,000 meters in the heart of the skiing region of St. Johann/Tyrol will be broadcasted live by EUROSPORT on March 11 starting at 8:00 pm.
The participants in the Champions Trophy are the six best athletes of the 2010 STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship plus two additional wildcard seeds: Jason Wynyard (New Zealand), Robert Ebner (Germany), Martin Komárek (Czech Republic), Arden Cogar (USA), Mitch Hewitt (Canada), Roger Gehin (France), Christophe Geissler (Switzerland) and the Austrian Josef Laier.
